Ceiling Tips

If you're a Prince then It might be 20' or 30' high, if you're a
pauper they are 8' high. If you are a typical middle class citizen
they can be either. The old flat ceiling is giving way to height &
shape.
When building a room addition you can be confronted with
problems if you want to do something different.
First you have to contend with the style of your roof. If you are
building a shed type roof you can have a vaulted ceiling (High
on one end, low on the other end)
A gable roof permits a cathedral or a tray ceiling & a hip roof
permits a tray or modified cathedral. (Tray ceiling; vision a
serving tray turned upside down)
Add some exotic (expensive) moldings or a skylight (more
expensive) & you add a touch of class that the Jones family
next store will envy.     
If you are looking for height  with 10' ceilings then there is no
reason you cannot. Now add a stone fireplace with a raised
hearth & stone facing to the ceiling............& your broke.
